It's Great to Be Eight, Part II

After the gift-opening, it was followed by some serious physical activities. I decided that the best thing to do was give Raven a swimming party. It didn't hurt that we were already members of Cole Harbor Place.

With her siblings and cousins in tow, Raven had a super time.

She was in her element!

As you can see, I was not in the pool. Darren and Ronnie(Raven's cousins' dad) was assigned that job. Denise and I went upstairs to the gym. For a blissful hour and a half, I was able to work up a sweat, while Tiffani was my photographer. It was very organized. Everyone got what they wanted. The children had a blast with their fathers, the mothers had a great workout and Tiffani didn't have to get wet. Savannah was the only who wasn't there. She had to work that day. All this physical stuff sure worked up an appetite, which was just what we needed for the cutting of the cake!

Here's the scoop! Raven actually wanted a "Hannah Montana" cake but because in the days
leading up to her birthday, I only heard about a show called, "Ben-10", I completely forgot about what she had said and got her a"Ben-10" cake. I felt so bad. What kind of mom forgets what her child wants for her birthday cake? Fortunately, Raven was very forgiving. She actually enjoyed her cake.
She was such a good sport about it. She loved explaining to her cousins who Ben-10 is.

I guess a little DNA never hurt anybody.

The traditional first cut of the cake with daddy. I'm not allowed to cut cakes or bread in my house. Apparently, I don't cut straight enough.

Savannah has arrived to join the festivities!

Getting caught up!

I love this picture!

Getting a phone call from Uncle Daniel. I wish he and Lara lived closer.

No time like the present to try out some of the "loot".

Madlyn didn't want to put make up on...she wanted to play with the cell phone.

It was a long afternoon and I think some people were exhausted. I guess we'll call it a night!

My mum used to get so mad at me because I always messed up bread when I cut it! You're not alone! Looks like a great swimming party!

What a fun swimming pool! You're such a great mommy. Thanks AGAIN for all the encouragement and support lately....blah, I'm SO glad that's all behind me for a year or so. It's funny that we've never met, but you are just so awesome! We WILL meet one day....you can join Kathy, Karen and I on our Big Girls Trip we're wishfully planning all the time!!! Oh can you imagine the hilarious-ness that it would be?!?

You're right....now none of us have any excuses for our houses to be messy! Instead of spending all our time at the computer chatting, we can all keep each other company all day while we clean up and actually be productive! Plus it's been SO fun getting to know each others' kids!!!! Our next quest will be to figure out 3-way webcam chatting....there HAS to be a way....
