Twas The Night Before Christmas and All Through The House...

For the past few years we've had a Christmas eve tradition in our home where we have a family potluck and then off to the live nativity. This usually included our six children, Darren's siblings and their familes, his parents and my mom. Well this year was a little different. We had the birth of our first grandchild Hayden and we had some family but also invited some very close friends of ours. Either way, what better way to start off Chrismas than with close family and friends. There's usually a theme to the meal and this year it was soups, chowders and chilis. My sister-in-law Denise brought spicy pumpkin curry soup, my girlfriend Paulette brought chili, Jeff and Kathy brought corn chowder and I made sweet potato soup. Let me tell you people, the food was outstanding. My mouth was watering just writing about it. There were bags of caramel corn to take home and a huge pan of it to eat as you like. Rolls and ice water finished off the meal. After which, we headed out to the pageant to see what Christmas is truly all about. I always get a little emotional when I watch it. This year the pageant was also a bit different. The costumes were incredible, more people were added and there were musical performances afterwards in which Chelsea sang in the youth choir. Christmas is such a special time of year and how blessed are we to be able to celebrate it with such a bounty of food, family and most importantly, the Savior's birth. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to spend Christmas Eve with. Even after the stress of preparing for the holidays, it was moments like these that makes you feel like it was all worth it.

Baby Hayden, our first grandchild and his parents, Brandon and Savannah.

The Blinn family...Madlyn,Denise(Darren's sister),Kaelyn, Ronnie and Logan.

The Nelsons...Jessica, Jeff, Sarah, Jacob, Georgia, Cooper and Kathy.

It's not often I get such a great shot of these two where Jeff is smiling.

I think I can safely say the kids had a great time, lol

The Jacksons...Tyrone, Devante, Paulette and Tisheena

Hi Leslie!
I don't know if your e-mail with the mailing address got lost in the mail or what, but I didn't receive it yet. Would you be able to resend that to me? Also, the DVD you won has become buried somewhere in the post Christmas tornado. lol From my experience, it will resurface. I just don't know when. I'll mail it as soon as it shows up.

Take care!
Sue
