Some of you already know that I have given up facebook for Lent and no, I am not catholic, lol! I have always appreciated the idea of giving up something that means a lot to me for the space of 40 days. I know this in no way compares to what the Savior did for us and that His sacrifice doesn't require us to do anything of the sort, but it's my own personal "thing". The funny thing is, when I decided to start this tradition, it was just for me and did not include anyone else in the family. However my children was intrigued by it and decided they too would give something up for Lent. So this year, my husband gave up soda, Chelsea gave up going to bed pass 10:00 pm, Angus gave up tv, and Camden and Raven gave up the computer. These were their choices and so far, they including myself have all been keeping to it. Fortunately for my children, they enjoy being outside and doing other things. For me, it has not been very easy because facebook has been a life-line for me during these depressing winter months. My husband always teased me about how his wife disappears January, Febuary and March, only to return in spring. I don't know about anyone else out there but I am a person of sunshine and warmth. The cold makes me want to hibernate. However it is now March and my hopes are that, the weather will soon turn for the better. This is the time of year when I take out my gardening magazines and start to make a list of all the things I would like to do in my garden. The garden has always been my baby but this year I have managed to snag my wonderful husband into giving me a hand. Anyway my friends, I do miss you all...I miss seeing the little tidbits that make up your lives. See you soon.

Good luck with the rest of Lent. I cannot believe Darren gave up soda...I would go through serious withdrawl for that!!
