South Beach, Florida
I'm a little behind on my various doings in Florida. One of our excursions was meandering down South Beach.
On the way down, it was amusing to see some of the billboards. Only in America. As soon as we arrived, I knew I was among the rich and quite possible, the famous. The whole place reeked of money. The homes that were on the small islands along South beach can only be accessed by helicopter or invitation only.
The ferrari you're seeing is just a sample of what people are driving down here. I actually saw a
cream-colored rolls royce. Unfortunately, my camera batteries died and I missed my opportunity.
I don't think you'll find anything like this in Nova Scotia. The shopping here was out of this world and outside of my wallet. I couldn't even afford to walk inside the stores and all the boutiques.
How cute is this little diner!
This is one side of South Beach. The entire left-hand side of the beach is lined with hotels and restaurants. Even though it was the middle of the week, the place was crowded with people walking along the streets. It was such a different atmosphere than back home. You could see the money and the wealth around you. Most people were dripping with bling and driving mercedes convertibles.
This was the right-hand side of the street. Just a short walk away, was the beach. It was incredibly windy but very warm. The only thing that kept it from being perfect was not having my family here to enjoy it.
This was the scene at the beach. The sun was hot, the water was heavenly and the sand was warm underfoot. Life was good. I was limited to the pictures I could take as there were so many thong bathing suits. When I was looking for bathing suits to buy, all they had were two-piece suits.
My sister Susan, still hanging in.
